A place to cache items and pointers to items that betoken and epitomise, and sometimes just exemplify the bizarre, the outer fringes of the conventional notions of reality. I've been collecting such material all my life. The items inspire and impel explication, may capture the Zeitgeist, and need to be fitted into the Understanding one is forever seeking to improve ...knowing all the while that the Quest to Understand is never completed.
Making an index to or a Finding Aid for my hoard of curiosa is daunting. What, for example, is to be done with this bit of realia?

I think I'll experiment here with contextualizing stuff that crosses my path and wants to be gathered together for shelter under the curiosa rubric. There's an archival element to be accommodated, hidden away in thousands jpgs and gifs (and txt and mp3 and...) on my hard drives. It will be interesting to see how /curiosa unfurls and develops.
Curiosa incite the imagination to flights of creation and the spawning of elucidatory Stories. Their signification is emergent: viewers are invited to make mental space for the proceeds of interaction with curiosa, and to attend to the process and products of their parsing.Many examples can be found in my rock portraits and (doubly so) in Hinges of Reality.
