   I just read this quote from a samurai who willingly gave up his stipend. He says that "those who love the past do not understand the present." I thought it would be interesting to see what students who attend a school mired in tradition and history thought about this quote. Please comment.

   So: yes, please DO comment on this, using the Comment facility of the blog. You might want to approach it from the point of view of the materials in Anthropology 230, or take it as a challenge to evaluate something about W&L, or perhaps take on some aspect of current events in the wider world... but make it interesting, and make it represent what you actually THINK.

3. If your project was a conventional paper, you'd have to write an introductory section explaining what the paper would cover and what the big issues are. I want you to do the same for the project: include in your log.html a couple of carefully-wrought paragraphs that make clear what you are doing and why. I'll read them with an eagle eye for clarity, logic, grammar, spelling...
