Paradigms

From 11vii26

I think I encountered the notion/word 'paradigm' in 1962 (via The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, and have been ...inhabiting... it ever since, and recently extending the word into Keyword territory, and using it as a lens to view Knowledge.

A paradigm lays out/maps a mode of thinking/explaining. There are conventional paradigms, and heretical paradigms that contend for adherents. There are approved ways of thinking and expression; and there are deprecated ways, and disapprobated ways…

Ideally a paradigm is internally consistent, and outwardly effective ...but rarely entirely so, or without internal contradictions

One picks one's way cautiously.
