19. Select as many common points as you can (6+ is desirable)

20. Select common points that are spread out/geographically dispersed


21. in the Warp/Enter order box, choose 1 or 2


22. resampling method for photos should be "Bilinear"


23. wait (five - ten minutes, be patient and do not freak out if your Task List shows that )


24. Turn on (check) the new Warp Theme in View 1


25. with the new Warp Theme selected (bevelled) Theme>>Convert to Grid


26. save this new grid in a location on P: where you will create your project; name it appropriately


27. when promted to add this new grid as theme to the View, Click NO


28. Close this Project (save it if you want to)

29. Open New Project


30. Open new View (do NOT set Projection)


31. Add Theme (add your grid)


32. you might need to double-click the theme to change the colormap to Gray if it appears to be a mass of colored pixels

***to calculate areas:
1. New Project
2. Set Working Directory to P:/temp
3. New View
4. View>>New Theme
5. Polygon


6. Select Draw Polygon tool


7. trace perimeter of area to be calculated (perimeter and area will display lower left)


8. once polygon is drawn and selected, click Open Theme Table


9. with table open, go to Edit>>Add Field


10. In Field Definition Box, rewrite "New Field1" as "Area"

11. click OK


12. with the Area field selected in the table, click on the Calculator button in the Toolbar (see screenshot above)

13. type in "[Shape].ReturnArea" and click OK

14. in your Attributes table, the Area Field should not show the calculated area expressed in the specified map unites (this shows meters)
