The BLOG for this course is an environment where you can post for others to read, and comment on others' postings. I'll make a few specific assignments, but I encourage you to find/make other uses as well --post observations, questions, etc.

To make a Posting:

go to bloggery.wlu.edu/mt.cgi and login with your username (your Novell login) and the PW as listed below (n.b. that you can change your PW to suit yourself)
To see the class blog:
go to bloggery.wlu.edu/intr296

you'll be able to post COMMENTS on other blog postings

A first ASSIGNMENT for each Team, to be worked out by discussion and posted by 9AM on Wednesday:
Write and post a short summary statement of the BASIC QUESTIONS that you see for your team's TOPIC: what's the core or essence of 'Subsistence', of 'Health', of 'Water', of 'Sacred Sites/Land'? This should be a really general summary, not specific to O'odham issues (since you're just beginning to explore those). How succinctly can you phrase the core or essence?
A second ASSIGNMENT, to be done by each PERSON and posted by 9AM on Thursday (yeah yeah I know: no class Thursday, but do it anyway):
COMMENT on the postings of EACH of the other three teams: pose questions and/or propose additional/alternative statements of core or essence
A third ASSIGNMENT, to be done by each PERSON before 9AM on Monday 25 April:
By this point you'll have done a good bit of background reading, both assigned and ad lib, about O'odham AND about your team's topic. Make a posting summarizing your current state of understanding of the most important outstanding QUESTIONS about the specific TOPIC. If you were going to Arizona tomorrow (and not a week from now...), what questions would you be seeking to answer?
A fourth ASSIGNMENT, to be done by each PERSON before 9AM on Tuesday 26 April:
Make a COMMENT on your Team partner's Monday posting, extending/refining the statement of questions
N.B. that these are the REQUIRED postings, but I urge you to keep looking at the blog, and to make comments/postings whenever you have things to say that you think might be useful/interesting to others in the class. The blog becomes a really useful medium when people start using it for more than just the routine assignments.
