'To vomit' in entire makes an interesting test of the colloquiality of the OED. A verb with many colorful alternatives, I note that this list does not include the Americanism hurl, and the larger metaphorical constructions ('driving the porcelain bus', 'crying Mary in the pillowslips', 'technicolor yawn', 'planting beets', 'talking to Ralph on the big telephone', etc.) are regrettably beyond the powers of the OED altogether.
