For East Asian Studies majors:
- DO some searches in and around your topic in several of the online resources, certainly in *JSTOR and *Bibliography of Asian Studies, but also in others that look like they might be relevant. REPORT the specific search terms you used in each.
- NARRATE your searching and its outcomes: what did you learn to augment your previous subject knowledge, what was frustrating in the process, etc.
- HARVEST the most useful citations, at least a dozen in total, and
- FORMAT them in some convenient way ('Turabian style' might be a good choice, and 'MLA Style' is widely used), being punctilious about the details!!!
For Seniors:
Last time it was Annie. This time I want you to reconstruct your history as a user of the Web, and specifically address
- The Web as a component of courses: in which courses did your instructors have and use course Web pages, in which courses do you remember being referred to specific or general Web resources (e.g., Library Web resources, non-W&L Web pages), in which courses were Web resources projected as a part of lectures? Think back and excavate as much detail as you can.
- Your non-course uses of the Web: meditate on your own development of 'recreational' and 'practical' uses of the Web as they have evolved over 4 years (e.g., did you explore gaming? news? weather? and so on...)
- Talk to several other Seniors about their history of developing awareness of the Web's possibilities, both 'academic' and 'recreational', and write a few paragraphs summarizing your discoveries.
