Making a Web page with Front Page Express

You'll find Front Page Express via this path

START menu => Programs => Internet Tools

Think of Front Page as offering a BLANK PAGE with many possibilities: obiously text (compose it on the fly or paste it in), also images (which will need to be located within your /public_html/ space, or referenced with a complete URL), and also links to other Web pages. There are other properties too --backgrounds, page formatting, font colors, etc.-- with which you may want to experiment.

To make a link:

Type the text you want to have as the link's anchor

Highlight that text

Click on the "Create or Edit Hyperlink" icon and fill in the URL to which you want to link

To save your page:

  1. From the FILE menu, choose 'Save As',
  2. Give the page a title
  3. Choose 'As file' and navigate to your /public_html/anth folder
  4. Specify the name (this page is 'makingpages.html')

Once you've named the page it's possible to EDIT it (and you'll be doing a lot of that), and then SAVE the new version via the SAVE command (or <control><S>)--which should replace the old file with its edited version. You'll need to hit the RELOAD or REFRESH button to see the newly-saved version in a browser window.
