Mapping interesting variables

I think everybody has successfully JOINed the 3 CHINA datasets to their Province(s), so the problems in getting map images onto the Web are mostly 'mechanical', having to do with one or more of these steps:

finding variables in the 1990 Census (a matter of using the key linked via '1990 Census Variables' on the course page)
using ArcView's Legend Editor and its 'Graduated Color', 'Classification Field', and ''Normalize by' features to display percent values for counties (see Working with .shp files: maps of ethnic identity for a review)
using PhotoShop to capture and edit and save screen images as .jpg files (see Using ArcView, down toward the bottom of the page, to review the steps)
inserting images onto .html pages (use the image's complete URL)

The Assignment for today says

make a few more ethnicity maps, showing the distribution of other ethnicities within your province(s) (choose those that have substantial numbers), and add them to that same ethnicpct.html page. Be sure to LABEL any you add, so you can figure them out later and so that I'll comprehend what you've done.

At the moment (1:45 on Tuesday) it looks like

Murray has two maps up and running and linked on the index.html page
Jack doesn't have an ethnicpct.html page (and it isn't linked on the index.html page)
Colin's images on the ethnicpct.html page aren't working (but there is a link to the page on index.html)
Lucy doesn't have an ethnicpct.html page (and it isn't linked on the index.html page)
Brett doesn't have an ethnicpct.html page, and the image on the pshop1.html page isn't working
Ian doesn't have an ethnicpct.html page (and it isn't linked on the index.html page)
Caroline's Han map isn't working (and there might be issues with how clearly things can be seen with the view including all of China)
Andy's Han map on ethnicpct.html isn't working, but the other minzu maps are
Ginny doesn't have an ethnicpct.html page (and it isn't linked on the index.html page)
Jaime's Han map isn't working, but the others are exemplary (it's 'Fujian and Guangdong provinces')
Alicia's ethnicpct.html has only the Han map so far and isn't linked on the index.html page
Blair's ethnicpct.html has only the Han map so far and isn't linked on the index.html page
Elizabeth's ethnicpct.html has only the Han map and isn't linked on the index.html page
Jessica's images aren't working
Charlie's Han map isn't working and the ethnicpct.html isn't linked on the index.html page

...so pretty much everybody has something to fix or complete.

When you've done those things, explore the 1990 Census variables and make a few more maps of distribution of variables that you find interesting and/or think would be important. Look at the variables at the bottom of the list (601-624) if you're stuck for what to map. Add these new maps to a separate page (explain which variables you've used for each) and then link it on your index.html page.
