Reference Sources

You should familiarize yourself with the resources in the Science Library Reference area, most of which (for Biology) are in QH, QL, QP, R and S.

Everyone should be aware of the dictionaries of biological terms, and of the several encyclopedias (Human Biology, Virology, etc.), and everybody should know about the Merck Manual (SCI REF RM127), just on general principles.

Those in Dr. Nye's group should explore the various encyclopedias and dictionaries in the range SCI REF QL3-QL751.

Those in Dr. I'Anson's group should be aware of the multivolume Handbook of Physiology (SCI REF QP6) and the Textbook of Medical Physiology (SCI REF QP34.5).

Those in Dr. Russell's group may find Medical Microbiology (SCI REF QP46) helpful.

Those in Dr. Wielgus' group should note that Encyclopedia of Human Biology has extensive material on pregnancy.
