The First Assignment

1. Part A is due by 9PM MONDAY Feb 2 for Nye and Russell groups, and by 9PM TUESDAY Feb 3 for I'Anson and Wielgus groups.

   Send by e-mail to me (blackmer.h@wlu.edu) with a copy to your faculty supervisor:

   Describe your choice of topic as you now conceive it, and include a narrative of your decision process, including

   • what sources you looked at (paper, electronic, etc.), and
   • how you narrowed to the final choice

2. Part B is due by 5PM on Friday Feb 13 for all groups

   Place in the Biology 182 drop box a narrative summary of your discoveries to date, including

   • reference books that look helpful,
   • any books you found in the stacks (include citation in correct format for your section and a brief summary of the utility of each)
   • URLs of web materials that seem especially useful
   • citations (again in correct format) for articles found using the 'general' indexes discussed in Week 2. Each should have a brief annotation.
