Assignment 5 (and the last for me)

Between now and Tuesday 1 March you should be Don't hesitate to ask me for help if you're having difficulty finding what you need --the sooner the better.

RefWorks does a pretty good job of pushing references in the direction of a specific format (like that of Ecology), bit it's only as good as the sources it draws upon. So you have to check over its output and make minor formatting corrections. For a template as you proofread your bibliography, see Ecology Vol. 85, No 12 (December 2004) page 3288, which has examples of correct formatting for articles with multiple authors, chapters in edited volumes, books, and other details. Correct your RefWorks output before posting your draft bibliography for the assignment below. You need to get it right...

***By 9 PM on Tuesday 1 March*** post a draft of your complete bibliography on your /bio182/index.html page (NOT in your log.html file) so that I can check it for formatting details. I'm not competent to evaluate your annotations, and you don't HAVE to include annotations, but I'd be glad to check them over for typos and such if you do. I'll try to get corrections back to you in a day or two.

This finishes my part of Bio182, and the rest is between you and your faculty mentor. You need to do two things with him/her:

  1. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT with your mentor for sometime in the week of 1-4 March to discuss your DRAFT bibliography, including annotations and summary/synopsis. It would be wise to saty in close touch with your faculty person in this last two weeks. I'll be glad to help when/if you run into difficulties in locating or accessing material.

  2. Turn in the FINAL completed annotated bibliography to your faculty mentor by 4 PM Friday 18 March --unless your mentor specifies otherwise, but you should check to make sure!
