Here are the instructions as handed out in class on Thursday 25 Sept. For Tuesday 30 Sept. I'm expecting augmentations to the materials linked on the Fujian Province and Collaborative Work page.
  1. Make a page and save it in /anth230/ as fujian.html

  2. Edit your /index.html page by making a link to fujian.html (label it something like Fujian Project)

  3. You'll START by following the link on searching in [separate assignments for each person]

  4. IDENTIFY the search resource on you fujian.html page (e.g., "Journal of Asian Studies in JSTOR" or "EconLit")

  5. search for fujian first, and you'll probably also want to try fukien (the Wade-Giles Romanization) as well. Record how many hits you get, and any other search details specific to the resource you're using (e.g., if you limit to "last 3 months")

  6. look through the results. What you're looking for is interesting things that cast light on Fujian, and/or suggest other searches one might make. When you find something that looks worthwhile,
    1. make a link on your fujian.html page if there's a usable URL that will get you to the actual full text, or record its bibliographic details (copy-paste them) if you can't figure out a way to link to the full text
    2. make a brief characterization of why the item seems interesting, so that somebody looking at your page will have an idea of significance and content.
