Should we be amazed or appalled by these videos? They are an efficient means to jumpstart a sense for the current state of The North American Food System (and including a few other examples, from elsewhere: coconuts, papayas, ducks in rice fields...). The scale is what amazes first, and then one starts to imagine the capital investment required, and the management that lies behind the enterprises, and the complexity of the steps from field to consumer.
The musical soundtracks are generally in execrable taste, not even ironic...
