Thomaston Album

A visit to Rockland Antiques produced an 1880s and 1890s family album, most of the portraits in which were taken in Thomaston, ME (there are some done by photographers in nearby Rockland and Camden, and a few from Boston, New Haven, Portland ME). Only the photograph of Tinnie Newbert has any information on who the sitters were, but we can surmise that most knew one another, and that many were relations of some degree.

Once again, you're invited to consider these photographs one at a time, appreciating the great variety and uniqueness of the personalities, despite their anonymity and distance from ourselves in time.
